Ρώµη. Ένας Ρωµαίος σκλάβος καταδιώκεται επειδή δραπέτευσε από το σκληρό αφεντικό του. Ένα τραυµατισµένο λιοντάρι βρίσκεται στον δρόµο του, κι ο Ανδροκλής, ο ήρωάς µας, αντί να αποµακρυνθεί τρέχοντας, το προστρέχει και το βοηθάει να θεραπευτεί. Μια σχέση ζωής αναπτύσσεται ανάµεσα στον άνθρωπο και το άγριο ζώο. Πότε θα έχει το λιοντάρι την ευκαιρία να ανταποδώσει το καλό στον Ανδροκλή; Και θα το κάνει; Ο συγκινητικός και βαθιά ανθρώπινος θρύλος του Ανδροκλή που γοήτευσε πολλές γενιές παιδιών παγκοσµίως µιλάει στην καρδιά µας µέσα από την ουσία των µηνυµάτων του.
